HI,

I'm new to creating VCD's from AVI's and have started with DVD2SVCD and TMPGEnc.

All went well until almost the end when I get the error "Could not find User Data at I-frame 6041 in file c:\...\movie\bbmpeg_muxed_file00.mpg"
I've searched the net and this forum but havn't find any answers.

Any help would be great, thanks...

When that happens, what files are you left with?

As I'm new to creating VCD's from AVI's there was also a load of other files like Avisynth and audio, I don't really know what they are ? (Still Learning, early days for my VCD adventures !!)

Since the problem, I have been searching this forum and found a suggestion to disable "add SVCD scan-offset" on the bbMPEG Output settings. This cured the problem and the conversion to MPEG-1 VCD ran through ok.

But to be honest I'd like to understand what this scan-offset option does and why it crased out.

Just to mention, I first successfully created a SVCD with the SVCD scan-offset option enabled and it worked ok but my Toshiba standalone DVD player will only play VCD's, shucks...

Also, I really would be great if you could recommend some "How to" guides on converting AVI's to MPEG-1 VCD using DVD2SVCD and TMPGEnc.

Thanks alot....

I think I have all the codecs I need, I used GSpot to verify this before starting and it found 3 Divx codecs.

FYI, I just finished a coversion to VCD a few minutes ago (error free), but the audio sounds really slow compared to the original AVI.

I used all the default settings, any ideas on this one ?? I'm pulling my hair out :-(

Will I ever get this to work ???

I really could do with a guide, converting AVI to VCD using DVD2SVCD, do you know a good one ??

I agree,

I've successfully created a good SVCD but my standalone DVD player won't play SVCD's. So I'm stuck with just VCD for now...

Yep, as you advised I gave up on DVD2SVCD and used TMPGEnc to convert my AVI to MPEG-1 and yipee... it worked.

I guess I'll then use the "Merge & Cut" option to split the file into 800Mb chunks. Or would you recommend any other tool for this ??

Thanks...
