I'm having trouble burining dvds on my sony rewriter, burning cds is no problem but my device doesnt pick up dvd on my coputer either,and yes I have tried it on other systems and it works perfectly.

Drive:Sony
Model No:DW-U10A
Serial No:7040080
Version: BD

Its something to do with firmware I think because we had this problem ages ago and it got resolved with download a firmware from some website,but that was a relative and they forgot wher ethey got it from. This happened because I reboote my pc.I would appreciate it if anybody could help me thanks.

Go to hardware manager and uninstal your drive/IDE controller. Then reboot.

No ignore the link, it is irrelevant now.

Just go to hardware manager and right click your drive, under IDE controllers and uninstall.

Then restart your pc.

Then when you load up pc, windows will reinstall your drive automatically.

This is a possible sollution. If it doesn't work, then no harm done.

I did exactly that and rebooted my pc and when i loaded it back up i tryed to see if it would pick up my dvd in my coputer but no help still burns only cd and cd-rw
