I recently received a sharp dv-nc55 dvd/vcr combo. Unfortunately it does not have the remote. Does anyone know if there is a way to switch to dvd without the remote? I haven't been able to find a way and it is worthless to me without dvd functionality.

Sorry, there is no special switch that comes with a Dvd player..
Remotes have all other function of a Dvd player without that
you can't use all the features of your Dvd player.

I was just wondering you received your brand new sharp dv-nc55
without the remote. How weird is that, you suppose to have the
remote dude... Good Luck

Would a universal remote work? You can buy new one, found this for 50.00; seems there are a number of sites but I only looked at this one.

It was at a military thrift store and didn't have the remote.

Can you buy the same dvd/vcr in stores?
I once brought a dvd player, it did not have a remote. So I brought the same dvd player again, took the remote from the box and returned back the dvd player for a refund.
