I was having the same problem.

I was using RipIt4Me (DVD Decryptor + FixVTS + DVD Shrink + DVD Decryptor to Burn)
It was coming up as successfully burned but wouldn?t play in the DVD player. I have the same DVD burner Pioneer DVR-109.
After switching disc media from Databank to Taiyo Yuden It now works.

I used DVDFAB / DVDshrink / Reauthor with no problem. This movie is almost 2hrs long so I broke it into two dvds. Works like a charm.

i used ripit, fixvts, shrink and decrypt.... movie only... and it took fooorrrever then when i watched it, it had loops, like the movie burned out of order, so it sounds like dfab is the way to go, but i am just not good at using it. i am on my way to a guide, and i hope i figure it out
i usually only use DVD43, shrink and imgburm. but lately movies are getting harder.
and thank you to all yall at after dawn that take the time to help out.
i love you man!

I purchased Region 1 (Canada) Widescreen. There was no special protections other than RCE. Strange was the packaging and the feature indicates 1hr 16min, when in fact was just shy of 1hr 55min.

I used AnyDvd/CloneDvd combination with movie only/English, left out Angle 2. Seems to work fine with no looping.

The US, NTSC Region 1 (CARS) has Macrovision's RipGuard protection. However, I've tested 3 methods:
(1) RipIt4Me
(2) yes, DVD Decrypter alone via MODE, File F
(3) DVDFAB Decrypter.

So far all of them ripped CARS smoothly without any issues. Don't know why it's so hard for others to rip and backup CARS.

Regards

@Alkohol,

My bad, there isn't even RCE, must of been seeing things LOL. Not the first time. Strange that they put different protections for Canada and US when we are both Region 1? I had my suspicions quite awhile ago, now it is confirmed.

Summary for drive D: (AnyDVD 6.0.8.2)
Drive (Hardware) Region: 1

Media is a Data DVD.
Booktype: dvd-rom (version 1), Layers: 2 (opposite)
Size of first Layer: 2073744 sectors (4050 MBytes)
Total size: 4146072 sectors (8097 MBytes)

Video DVD (or CD) label: CRZ0NNW8
Media is CSS protected!
Video Standard: NTSC
Media is locked to region(s): 1!

RCE protection not found.
DVD structure appears to be correct.
Structural copy protection not found.
Autorun not found on Video DVD.
Bad sector protection not found.
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1!

ok ripped and burned(movie only) perfect with dvdfab and i never used VobBlanker... because of the "need to close" thing.
but i still couldnt burn full disc, shrink wouldnt even open the full disc file. i don't know why i was having such problems, when alot of people seem to not have any issues at all with this movie. just when i think i'm gettin good at this.

Ahh...someone mentioned Angle 2. I hadn't seen that; I'm guessing that explains the two titles I referred to (50 and 56 or 59) that I hadn't seen referenced and I suspected were causing the problem. Don't know if they were or not, but definitely don't need them. Question: Using Shrink, I take it I need to re-author in order to get rid of those two titles; or can I do it in something other than Shrink to retain menus?

Hi All, I need MUCH help. I have been using dvdfab/shrink and decrypter [I'm slow and just heard about the legal issues] but shrink gives me the cyclic redundancy error and dvdfab says "Get DVD information fail. 4096
Can anyone help and tell me how to get my writter to read the disc or what I can do? I can't open hardly any disc right now either, not just CARS.
