Why is gta vc stories laggin?

Im new to these forums so hi everyone... anyway i was playing gta vice city stories with devhook. i play with a cso file on about 900mb but when i play it laggs, can i do anything about it?

BECAUSE IT IS CSO
GTA games and cso don't get along usually, uncompress it to an ISO and you won't get lag anymore.

if u end up w/ an iso that is 1.57 GB u can use a ripkit on it. or if ur familiar w/ UMDGen at all, u can save some space by getting rid of the update folder gets rid of about 480-490MB off the ISO.

no im not familiar with it...Where can i get the ripkit? and how do i get rid of the update folder? and what kind of purpose does the update folder serve?

Plenty of ripkits available, ripped mine last nite and now no lag... no music either though :(
But I just ordered a 2gig stick yesterday so once that arrives I will be playing the full sized version wth just the updates etc removed.

what does a ripkit do

update folder contains data to update your psp. that's bad.
ripkit will remove update folder, and any other data that's mentioned in the readme w/ the ripkit, u run the ripkit it does the work for ya, and then u got a smaller version of the game, maybe missing music or movies or something though....

cant i choose to just remove update folder so i can still hear music n movies? u said that would reduce the size for about 400 mb n then it would still fit on my 1 gig card

nope, it'd be too large still. u'd have to rip something else. but u can try and see if ur's has the update folder even....download UMDGen 3.5 or 3.0.2 - then once that's done, start it up, open GTA-VCS.ISO (or whatever ur ISO name is) under PSP_GAME there should be a folder called SYSDIR inside that should be a folder called UPDATE just delete the entire folder.
if it's not there, someone already ripped some stuff.

Theres a good ripkit available on the site I mentioned above, you can choose exactly what gets removed. You can even choose which individual radio stations you don't want, remove intro movies, languages, updates etc.
696mb is the smallest I can get the game and thats with everything possible ripped.

No its the right one, it must work with LCS as well.
Heres the readme (sorry forgot that aswell)
1. Extract your ISO to a folder (you should get a folder "PSP_GAME" and a file "UMD_DATA.BIN")
2. copy the files "rip.bat" and "dummy.txt" in the folder where you extracted your ISO
3. Run rip.bat and follow the instructions
4. Open UMDGen and drag n drop the folder PSP_GAME and the file UMD_DATA.BIN to the window, go to File-->Save As-->"yourisoname.iso"; when the ISO has been created copy it to your PSP
Grab UMDGen from here or the official site www.umdgen.com
