I've encoded plenty of movies successfully with tmpgenc. I wasn't doing anything differently this time, but after i encode the resulting video contains a lot of ghosting or overlap from the past frame i suppose. I changed lots of settings and nothing changes. Can anyone help. oh my source video is 16:9, 29.970fps, progressive.
Also im useing dvd2avi to frameserve for tmpgenc. Any input about this would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

my input is VOB format. I used DVD2AVI to create a d2v file from them. I've done this many times without any problems, and i didn't do anything different this time.

no i was encoding to NTSC to NTSC. I also tried NTSC to NTSC film, but still no change in the output file. I've done other videos that were source NTSC, and didn't have any trouble.

i wasn't running anything else other than my sound card, and i have plenty of hard drive space. Should i try useing a different program other than DVD2AVI? If so what would u recommend?

hmm ok, bad then :(. I wouldnt think this is a problem with your computer at all but more a problem with the dvd disc itself!

I have a problem with my tmpge also i have encoded lots of AVI to SVCD and VCD before in the past but now with a few im getting a illegal floating error and with some others ive encoded them but for some reason its encoded as a file other than a mpge which i have done the same thing like the others i have done and never had a problem.

Yes everything is disabled like its supposed to be.but thats not the problem anymore. Its when its enocdeing the mpg it acts like its encodeing but when its finishes i have a 600mb file instead of a VCD or SVCD. the illegal floating error isnt a problem anymore.

yes, the enocding will finish and will be some sort of 680+mb but when you go to the file you encoded its just a file that is 680+ mb and will not open gives the box that pops up and says open file with...like my other file that are finished encoded have the icon that is my dvd platinum.. and some are just white little icons.. and will just say FILE when you highlight it instead of moviename intervideo media file.
