ok i have a 1.5 psp which was wrkin percecty untill i spilt some rubbing alcohal on it and the volume started getting messed up,so i decided 2day that im gunna return my psp to best buy for a brand new 1 because i have the extendend warenty thing,but i was wandering is there a way to tell what kind of psp they would give me?like a ta mobo 1?

no they dont store the psp units where u customers can have their hands at em. theyre usually in the back somewhere and bestbuy is going to have the newer firmware psp's. u could always take the new one and trade it for a used 1.5 or non ta-082 at ebgames or gamespot.com

i will tell you what i did.
I walked into EB games ( australian store )
and ask the store person what "firmware" the PSP's where.
she looked at me with a blank stare and said " whatsa "firmware"
i explained to her that sony update them ever so often .. ie security patches blah blah but i told her that i didnt want anything above 2.7 because it had major flaws ( ok i lied i didnt want to tell her it hadnt been cracked ) she then opened up the psp started it up i looked at what firmware it was 2.01 -- were miles behind in OZ so i walked out a happy man.

would eb games tell you which psp has 1.5 fw capabilities? and i wonder if they'd let me trade my psp which is a couple months old, for a used psp.
