Its secure to upload and download from filesharing sites like rapidshare, megaupload, sendspace, etc.?

I'm not refering as to being infected by a virus, but rather if anybody uploads or downloads a file, do they keep logs of your IP and what files you downloaded? if so do they keep them permanently?

Also i wonder if there's something you can do, or program to use while using filesharing sites, as you do with the use of peerguardian2 while using p2p programs... even so, could pg2 be used to secure yourself, while downloading from filesharing sites?

Perhaps somebody with some expertize in the matter, could please explain me, thanks.

The best way to stay secure is not to upload or download at all.

yes i am sue that the site's have some sort of logs, like rapidshare, if you don't have a preimum account you have to wait if you are downloading more thain one file, and you also have to understand that your ip also keep's logs, as far as pg2 it works
