I know this nat error has probably been asked numerous times, but I can't seem to correct the problem reading any instructions so far on the Web. I've looked at plenty threads on this forum already as well as many others. So, if you could just bear with me, I'd appreciate it. So, I've recently began downloading torrents using Azureus (the latest version). I didn't know I had a NAT problem until a day ago. My download speed goes from 3 kb/s up to 19 kb/s. It fluctuates a lot, but it mostly stays under 10 kb/s. When it goes up to about 26, it drops rapidly down to 10 again. I've tried everything from disabling my Zone Alarm and my XP firewall. I think I'm currently using XP Service Pack 2. I configured my firewall to accept ports 6881-6889 TCP and UDP. I also applied the same configurations to my DSL wirespeed modem when I typed in the "192.168.1.#" in the address bar. I've read that those ports are common and often blacklisted or blocked from trackers. So, I've made my port 5 digits. Right now it's 54565. I used the Nat/firewall tester on Azureus and it says it's "OK", but my health smiley is yellow. I also looked at my peers and it says I'm only getting through to local connections. I don't know how to enable remote connections?? I think if I solved that problem my download speed will be higher. Could anyone help me with this?? I've read almost 10-20 different threads on NAT errors and I can't seem to be able to do anything to fix my slow download speed! I don't know if this additional information helps, but when I go to my network connections to do the right clicking on properties, my local connection is under the category "LAN or Highspeed".
I hope this is enough information for someone to help me with!
Thank you so much for your help. I followed the flowchart and got my health up to green. =) I'm receiving remote connections now and my downloads are going faster!
