ok I got a backup copy of the lord of the rings from a friend and i copyed it(backed it up).but it plays in black and white on my dvd player. why is this?

what can i do to fix this?
Is it a problem with the way i burned it?
I Decryped it first them i shrunk it then used nero to burn it.

Why does it play in black and white it is a colour film.

That is a new one. It is not any of the processes: decrypt, shrink, burn; that would have caused such a thing to occur.

Something else you did probably.

Make sure the scart connection is in the right TV input. If you have it in AV2 (Is it a Panasonic?) then change it to AV4 if you have one. Bare in mind a lot of TV's dont have AV3. Seen this problem before.

What media are you using and in what player?

ok the movie is on a dvd-r.

I would normally back my movies up on dvd+r and they play fine.

My dvd player is a LG DVD2410. and the TV is a mitsubishi.

Where I've seen this before is where a disc is played and output in NTSC but the TV doesn't support it (most newer ones do). Also can happen when using a S-VHS SCART with an AV socket. Check the DVD player and the TV's set up menus, looking for PAL, NTSC playback settings or similar.

Sounds a bit strange though if you get others to work, maybe you had a box checked on the software that shouldn't be.

got it to work there is a switch behind my player to select which video input to choose i just flicked the switch and it work great.

I have never heard of this before but I fixed it what a fucked up problem.

Yeah, some DVD players have a conversion switch on them. I wouldnt have thought of that cuz all my DVD Players paly both formats automatically.
