Hi All.

I have a weird situation here. I am trying to reduce some game iso's down from around 1.6GB to something that may fit on my 1GB stick. I have done the usual padding and update folder ripping and have even used rip tools to further reduce the size of the files. The problem is that once I try to compress the the iso, which was rebuilt with UMDGen or VCDRomX (same results), the resulting .cso is abnormally small. For example, a backup of one of my games' iso's is 1.656GB and I have ripped out the padding and what-not to make it a 1.2GB iso using UMDGen. Now when I manually use ciso.exe, PSP ISO Compressor, or any other utility like that, the resulting .cso file is a whopping 26MB. Yep, That's Megabytes and using Level 1.

If I compress the original ISO I have, it compresses normally down to about 1.05GB as a .cso.

Any ideas about what is happening to make it compress so much? It should be more like 832MB. The only thing I can think of is that it has something to do with what was ripped or what UMDGen did to the iso.

Thanks for any light you can shed on this issue.

As suspected it was a no go. :( I am going to recompress with default padding set as someone else here suggested and report back. Thanks for your help.
