In order to fit as many songs as I could onto my 4GB player I foolishly converted a bunch of my favorite stuff (Dead Can Dance, Mazzy Starr, Loreena Mckennitt, Enigma, Days of the New)to 96kbs WMA.
Ya, I know. Rookie mistake. All I can say in my defense is that now I know better.
The good news is that my 45yr old, a few-too-many-Nugent-concert-ears didn't notice the difference.
I intend to get a 30GB Zune on the 14th and it does not support WMA.
So now I am considering converting the 96kbs WMA BACK to MP3.
My question is: what is the highest average vbr bitrate I can use before redundancy kicks in?
In other words....what is equivalent to 96kbs WMA in MP3 to not have any quality loss (I know I can't improve the quality, I just want to minimize loss).
Thanks.
