(I hope I said this correctly, so you know what im talking about)
I have gotten some DivX movies off of a file sharing program. I have movies that are from 1 hour and half to 3 hours long. I got one 2 minute clip to burn onto a DVD-R, But I can not get the movies to burn. All the file stuff is the same, just the length is different. Is there some program that will let me burn the whole movie or even split it to two disks? Cause right now I can't get it to work. I have spent hours trying to get it to work. If anyone has any info on how to do it, or any programs I can get it would be greatly appreciated!!!

SylverIvy, you question is rather vague. Are you getting 'errors' when you burn big files? or are you trying to convert/burn your Divx movies to DVD-video?

We might be able to help if you provide us with more details.

Im so new to this, Im sorry. Im trying to burn DivX movies to DVD-R 4.7(I think). I got them from Kazaa. I just got a new sony comp. It is supposed to have everything you need to burn, make or anything about a DVD. I also got the gigapocket(don't know if that helps). I have tried all kinds of programs that were provided on it, when I try to burn one of Divx movies it says the file was damaged. Except the 2 minutes clip. I was thinking maybe the files are too big to put on one DVD-R.

I am having the similar problem, i purchased a new DVD-R/RAM and beginning to think i should of stuck with my CD burner instead, it was easy to burn VCD's. I have been trying to burn my kazaa movies with my neoDVD, which is the software that came with my dvd burner and it seems to take hours and days; supposedly it has something to do with the kazaa files being too compressed and I was told i needed to be "uncompressing/converting my downloaded files into a more generic/compatible file.
You need to uncompress the audio and video." I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO DO THAT EITHER : /
does that help anyone to maybe help me or SYLVERIVY?

Hi first off you can't burn divx encoded movies on a dvd and have them play on a set top player because they have to be in mpeg2 compession video/audio. Also nero won't do this on its own after. Your dvd burner should have come with some video editing software that allows you to make dvd movie disks. My pioneer 104 came with powerdirector pro that allows you to make vcd/svcd/dvd disks with menus and chapters that will work on a set top player. You have to have your movies or clips in the complient format or they wont play. Another program is sonic mydvd which only allows you to make dvd out of your clips. Your first problem is to encode your divx clips into mpeg1(vcd) or mpeg2 (dvd) and then use one of the 2 or search for more software that allows you to make dvd menus and disks. I now that nero only does vcd or svcd so trying to make a dvd with menus on nero is pointless because you can't. Your major problem is encoding the divx to mpeg1 and mpeg2, once you do this all you need is the program that allows you to make the dvd menus and vob's that will be able to play in any dvd player.
good luck.
