hey guys, if i put a umd into my psp, it just doesnt read :( so i took the screen out, so i could see the laser, (i didnt go any further than that so i dont think thats the problem). i could see the laser trying to read it, so does it mean i need a new one even if i can see the laser????? i have also seen on the forums ( cant seem to find it now) a thread where you put some kind of substance or something on a ear bud and clean the laser head and it works ??? can someone please tell me if i need a new umd/laser unit or can someone tell me what i need to clean the laser, thanks guys i hope i can get it working :)

yer i tried a few discs and still nothing :( that tip with the pencil etc didnt work either :'( but im gonna try that alcohol stuff, any ideas where i can get it from, oh and thanks for answering lol

hey hodgins long time no see. hows it been, with psp hacking and all, ever since we were all into aces guide back in the day i have managed to grab myself a psp. Hacked out to the max.

Have you tried SE-B'' Hodgins? The NO-UMD option works with pretty much every game, and it'd save you a few quid compared to buying a new laser assembly.

that is very true. i think your best bet would be SE-B cuz no umd mode. so its still all good. no worries.

i say just take a swap with normal rubing alcohol but more then likely u burn out the lense specialy if u watch movie umds those always burn it out man
and just get a new drive i mean yeah u can try se but that would only b avoiding the problem thats never a good idea

First off make sure you aren't in Devhook while testing.
Second I would try aligning your laser ; just push it a notch to the right; you can do it more than once.
If all else fails clean the laser with Windex (or other glass cleaner)(preferably)
If you need help still i can attempt to help you on MSN (lol if i ever see you on again)

well i would imagine because it is glass and because it is alot less harsh then isopropyl rubbing alcohol.
