so i have a d-link router model EBR and i cloned my Mac for the wan but couldnt figure out how to do it for the lan and i still can not use my router b/c of it can i clone the lan mac also or would i have to do something else?
You're not supposed to clone your MAC for the LAN, just for the WAN. The reason why cloning is offered at all is because some ISPs "register" the MAC address of the machine connected to the modem. In order to save you the hassle of going through re-registration, router manufacturers simply allow you to clone your PC's MAC address so your ISP doesn't know you've hooked a router up. There is no purpose in doing that on a LAN; in fact, that can cause problems with MAC-based filters and such.

If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.

Ok, what is it? If it's 169.254.x.x, 192.168.x.x,, 127.x.x.x, 10.x.x.x, or 0.0.0.0 then you've got a problem. But I'll assume it's a real IP. That means your WAN side (public side, also the modem side) is probably ok, and your PC is having trouble connecting to the router. First, disable any software firewall temporarily and try opening your browser to a safe website. If still nothing, click Start->Run and enter in IPCONFIG /ALL and hit enter. What do you get? Of particular interested, IP Address should say 192.168.0.x, where the x is some number not 0, 1, or 255. Gateway should be 192.168.0.1. Is this what you're seeing?
Also, while you're in CMD, enter PING 192.168.0.1. It should set SENT=4 RECEIVED=4 LOST=0. If so, you're good and we'll take it from there. Type EXIT and hit enter to exit out of the DOS command window.
