Best online fps gaming for the PS2?

I've heard that the best online (and offline MP) fps gaming experience (excluding the WWII genre for argument's sake) on the PS2 is had on Timesplitters: Future Perfect. Supposedly there's so many possibilities to explore in terms of options, settings, and gaming modes that it's unmatched among it's peer titles.

Can others confirm this? Is this game the cream of the crop for MP in this genre?

all depends on what you like. I do not play any PS2 online, just Xbox. But i do have Future Perfect and Tinesplitters 2 and loved both of them. I know the offline Co-Op is a lot of fun.
I have heard great things about the military games online like
Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six, and SoCom 2 & 3.
Also games like Splinter Cell-Pandora Tomorrow.
And Starwars Battlefront.

I do not want to name too many games because they may not have onlie for PS2, all i can speak for is Xbox.

I usally play on the ps2 because it is free....

Anyways ghost recon is pro online it is so much fun.... But I dont think Splinter Cell-Pandora Tomorrow is a fps shooter just to let you know... And call of duty 3 is really good online....

It's hard to find a better game for online mp that reviewers like more in the non-WWII fps genre than Timesplitters: Future Perfect.

Including WWII fps games here's the list of titles that are supposed to be great for online MP:
-Battlefield 2: Modern Combat
-Socom 3 (huge maps, up to 32 players, and best online game according to IGN)
-Call of Duty 3

I'd add SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Combined Assault, since it seems to be everything that SOCOM 3 was and more but I have a beef regarding the max 16 player cap online which SOCOM 3 doesn't have. Not sure why or even if this is true, but it would make me want to retain both titles simply so I could keep the option of playing in a 32 player server online.

Add or take away from this list, and criticize where you think criticism is deserved.
