Ok, I have an old, offbrand computer, "access 2000", when i got it, it had windows 95 and a crappy 10 gig hdd. I replaced it with a 80 gig hdd and installed xp for os. I DONT THINK THIS IS GOOD. Anyways it runs, and boots and up, but is extremely slow. just a couple programs installed. I am thinking that this processor is not good enough to support xp.
PLEASE HELP ME ! PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO DO!
Thanks,
Evan

when the computer 1st posts before going into windows, does it show you what the cpu speed is & how much ram? if can get into the bios setup, see if that info is there & post here.

you buy them on thier own, mobo, cpu and ram, unless you buy a bundle.
you need to find out what size the mobo is before you can tell if a new one will fit.
download cpuz and it will tell you all the info

Probably be cheaper, easier, faster, and better to buy an already assembled Windows XP machine. Use this one for toying with Linux.
