Ok, so everywhere I read "1.5 blah blah is better blah blah blah DON'T UPGRADE blah blah blah" But I am still not sure WHY. What is the deal with the 1.5, what can it do that upgraded versions can't? Also, I just bought a PSP from someone. I was trying to get a 1.5 because I heard thats the version I should get...and this kid says it is a 1.5 +2.7 or something like it thinks its a 2.7 but has 1.5 capabilities. I am so new to this Im not sure what it all means. HELP PLEASE

Yeah ok, For your first question, 1.5 can play games diectly off a memory card as all other firmwares abvove can not. As you know this can save a lot of money, and you can borrow mates games and rip them off there. Also 1.5 has the ability to lay homebrew applications that vary from psp calculators, to snes emulators.
The 2nd question about 1.5 + 2.71, the psp may have dev hook (device hook). This allows multiple firmware loading/switching between 1,5 and 2.71. The reason for this is because most game now require firmware updates, in order to play. So at one point you can play ms games, and at the other, you can enjoy umd games without updating
NOTE: MOST NEWER GAMES LIKE NFS:CARBON REQUIRE UPDATE TO 2.8X!. INSTALLING THESE UPDATES WILL DISABLE YOUR ABILITIES TO PLAY OFF THE MS AND PLAY HOMEBREW. Thanks, Ps2Gen

Lol, I prefer the proper 2.71 to the 2.71seb. I know installing homebrew and all that illegal strut isnt the safest thing, but id never have custom f/w lol.
