im having problems getting a picture on my monitor. The other day everything worked fine. I've replaced the vid card, changed the pci slots, changed monitors, taken out all but 1 ram stick + tried different individual ram sticks, i left 1 primary HD, there is no floppy drive but i have tried with one and two floppys. im not entirely sure if the motherboard has failed or if it could be a faulty PSU. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

with the drives connected, does it appear to be loading stuff even tho not appear on screen. check the can shaped objects on the motherboard that are capacitors that they are flat topped & not domed. try another psu.

First thing I would check or re-check would be to make sure you have the *new video card properly seated in the slot. Since you just changed it and all was fine before, I would think that is a prime candidate for the problem.

Do you have onboard video? Does you mother board also have a monitor connection. If so, more than likely it will be blue at the tip and found along the rear of the PC perpendicular to where the motherboard lies. If so, plug you monitor into there. If it shows up, it confirms 1 of two things if not both.

The video card is not seated properly and once removed, your BIOS detected the onboard video versus the new card you have added. You can log into your BIOS and diable the onboard video.

I think it may not be seated properly, the new card, because usually a card added to a system will automatically override the onboard video if it exists...
