I have seen alot of answers to this question spread across the net!
Most have been YES, NO and MAYBE
I am new to the psp scene so some sound advice from someone who know what they are talkin about would be awesome!!

If the answer is yes then can someone pls point me in the right direction?

I have another psp which is 1.5 and sucessfully put devhook on!
This is running iso's very nicely :)

oh btw.... my mate has upgraded his to 2.8 (think it was a 1.5?)
Can he downgrade his back to 1.5
is there any way of telling what the original version was please?

Yes, you can downgrade a 2.6 to 1.5 again if you don't have a TA-82 mobo, See here, If you don't have that mobo you can downgrade, but a 2.8 psp can not downgrade at all yet.

This psp was something like a 1.5 so... cos he has gone to 2.8 that means he is stuck with 2.8 for a while?
