More then you could before you had the Eloader....
It lets you playhomebrew where as before you could'nt.
May seem like a small thing but its another step closer to 2.8(1) devhook

oh ok i thought i had to downgrade to play home brew but i guess not. (i got the snes emulator. its pretty sweet!)
