I want to hack my version 2.1 PSP but i dont know what region firmware it has, how do i check?

i got PSP version 2.1. i dont know what region it is, what is a quick way to check what region it is?
i want to downgrade the version to 1.5, by applying the firmware to upgrade to 2.5 than using the downgrader software to downgrade it to 1.5 (its the GTA game loading method)
if i install the wrong firmware, i will ruin it, how do i make sure it the correct firmware i am applying?
also my 1gb memory card is not working in my psp, i have formatted it, but it still doesn\'t work. my 2gig card doesn\'t work either. the memory card works in my mates psp which is version 2.0.

it doesn't matter the downgrader works on any region
i live in the uk and ive played a ps3! yaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!

yeah just go to psp-hacks and download the downgrader and enjoy man and to see what region just check the model of the system

i think u can only check your region through umd videos. get a EUR one ad a US/JAP one.

naw the region depeneds on the psp's model number like 1001 US that my region then 1006 is ASIA
