Hey all. I got a psp about a month ago so I'm a relative "n00b" to most things discussed on this site. I have taken the time to read through all the "Super N00b Guide!" stickies, so I'm looking for further clarification here.

Please dont rip me apart.

For starters when I got my psp I ignorantly comitted the ultimate sin and downloaded 2.81 firmware, which trust me, I am kicking myself for. What I'd like to know is, are there currently any projects in developement for a 2.81 downgrader? I've seen just about everyone say there isnt one out, but I'm wondering if theres one in the making.

Also I'd like some clarification on a few things..

1.- Would it be worth the money to just buy a 1.50 firmware psp to accompany my current one? Keeping one nice and stock, and modifying the other?

2.- Are emulators, homebrew, and other apps, not usable on 2.81, really worth buying 1.50 psp for?

3.- what is "Bricking"? I'm going to assume its when you botch your firmware and your psp is useless, but I could be wrong.

4.- What are some worthwhile modifications for software or hardware on the PSP? Anything to accelerate/increase preformance or add new features? I am computer savvy and decent with a soldering iron, so suggestions would be great!
