HI

I have just brought a PSP FW2.01 and would like to play downloade ISO games. I have writing in the left side so dont have the TA motherboard and ive just ordered a 2gb memory card pro duo.

Can you help me out, ive read lots of threads but I would like to know the following as im confused re upgrading or downgrading:

Is it best to downgrade my 2.01 to 1.5? If so, is there a step by step guide? Would I still be able to play retail games on the PSP?

OR
Is it best to upgrade to 2.6 then downgrade? I understand you need a GTA expoit to do this and I dont have that.

Could you point me in the right direction for a step-by-step guide?

I would like the simplist option that will play ISO's I download along with my retail games.I may also like to play films once I know what im doing with the games.

Thanks very much in advance, im sorry if these questions haev been asked before but I am trying to understand all this and its all new to me.However I think im doing fairly well for a female who only brought the PSP this am, good job ive got a internet package I can use all day as ive been reading threads all day.

How to downgrade

1) Update to 2.71 (put EBOOT.PBP in PSP----GAME on memory stick)

2)Format the memory stick (system settings --- Format memory stick)(make sure you back up any save games and what not)

3)Install the 2.71 downgrader on your PSP

Go to photo on your PSP . The PSP screen will turn red completely when executed. Note that it may take 15 tries before the screen turns red. Plugin Ac adapter also.

5)Format Memory stick again

----------------------------------------------------------------
After you have 1.50

6)Install Devhook( you can select to install Stock devhook with 2.71)

7)Copy games into the ISO folder on the root of your memory stick

8) Execute devhook with the following settings:

UMD Select -> select game ISO
UMD MOUNT -> ISO ANYUMD
UMD VERSION -> 2.xx ->2.00
FIRMWARE -> 2.71
BOOT SELECT -> reboot XMB

Note that a UMD must be present. We cannot tell you where to acquire ISO s.

it is more safer to downgrade from 2.0 then from 2.6 or 2.71.

Safer ? I dont see it making any difference....To date Ive downgraded 34 PSPs of various firmwares without any kind of problems. If you ask me, downgrade from whatever you want...although 2.71 is the easiest to do with the EasyDowngrader as you dont need GTA.

Didnt know you could downgrade from 2.01 fw.....Ive always updated em. Is it the same as 2.0 ?

You talking about the MPH Downgrader ? The one that errors at 99% when updating to 1.5 ?

yeah its ment to error at 99%. part of the procees when u turn it on you have a 1.5!!! the samething with 2.01 downgrader!
