I broke my PSP screen about 2 months ago. Ordered a replacement off of eBay right away, that one never came. Ordered another one a few weeks ago. It arrived today and I eagerly installed it to be presented with a bright white screen, nothing more, but I noticed that when I held it almost entirely flat I could make out a faint picture. I was unable to navigate the menus in an even remotely deliberate way, however I was somehow able to feel my way through reseting it to default settings. Still nothing but a blank white screen, this time it seems like its a little bit harder to read, might just be me, idk.
After that I double. triple, and quadruple checked the connections to the screen, no dice. I completely disassembled the entire thing to make sure that nothing else broke and to ensure that all the connections were still solid.
Then I decided to Google "replacing a psp screen" and find my self here reading a few posts here and there, realizing that I can't wait to get this thing running again so that I can try some of this stuff. After a while I run into a post about someone getting a screen that didn't work because the shipper didn't put the screen in an anti-static bag.
It was at this point that I realized that I probably screwed my self (again... don't forget the first time) out of another screen. Hopefully I get a refund for my bad screen, but if I don't I will now be out about $70 (oh yeah, the first guy didn't give me a refund because his delivery confirmation shows it as delivered. BS!!! My parents had been watching for the package for weeks and it never showed up, gonna fight that one till I can't fight anymore) and still no PSP!!!!!
I'm tired of screwing around with eBay, does anybody know what I can do to fix the (what I'm thinking is a) bad screen I have now, or where a good place is to buy a screen here in the States, or a place that at least offers a DOA guarantee and uses fricken anti-static bags. The way I figure it, the main board and everything else is fine because the picture is still there, its just not legible, correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks in advance for any responses and sorry for being long winded, I had to vent somewhere and somehow.
AJ

yeah every cable with a connector has been double, triple and then quadruple checked. everything is connected as it should be, its just the screen is all white, but when you look at it at a very extreme angle you can see a very, VERY faint image of what is supposed to me the PSP main menu.

tried that. there is only the button that is on the front right, nothing in the menus. I can't remember as I have not been able to use it in a few months.
Thanks

it arrived in a foam sponge like packing material in a paperboard box, inside a larger box that had some bubble wrap in it. none of it was anti-static, the foam was white, the paperboard and box were brown, and the bubble wrap was clear.

ajtish, I've just put in a new screen and it was fine for a few seconds and then went very bright/white but you can still make out the details. The three stages of brightness are still available but the darkest one is still too bright. I opened it up again and put it together again and it was ok again for a second or so and then the same thing happened. Any ideas guys? Thanks, Keith.

touran22, I took it apart again and moved the screen around while apart and it did seem like there was a loose connection with the large connector, then the little brown strip on the connector fell off! Aw my gawd! finally got it back on and reassembled and the thing seems to be working again. I really MUST get some tweezers!
