hi i converted a movie into VOB files using smart ripper, the only problem im running into is that the VOB files have more GB than my 4.7 GB memorex discs. This may be a very stupid question, but is there anyway to compress the files so they will fit on one disc or o I have to use 2, any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
thanks

I've done a lot of backups with dvd-shrink and I've never run into an audio problem.

Are you saying that when you skip to the next chapter the sound disappears for the rest of the movie or the sounds disappears temporarily (probably normal-although I never noticed this) and then picks up again.

Try playing the ripped dvd on your computer (the vob files) and see if you run into the same problem.

Also try playing your burned dvd on your computer and see if you get the same probs.

It isn't dvd shrink that is causing your problems...

I have burned 10 memorex dvd-r backups and about 100 dvd+rw backups and I have never come upon audio probs, so the media is ruled out as the prob...

Maybe it is the burning app (what did you use?)or your standalone player that is glitching over the dvd-rs.

Try switching to the next Audio stream while playing the movie.

I did it again and produced the same result. I then took a different movie and used the shrink on it, but on this one the first four VOB files have sound when I previewed them, but the last VOB file(the end of the movie) had no sound. My commputer is brand new and so is the phillips recorder/dvd player i use.
any more help???
thanks.

Have you tried b urning onto a RW as sometime software such as PowerDVD & WinDVD have audio problems on playback but it most certainly is there after putting onto disc...

Try it , nothing to lose : )

I tried burning a dvd using this page. http://www.dvd2dvdr.com/dvd-5.htm. Once i clicked burn with prassi primo, it said, Data disc terminated with errors. The recording is larger than the available space in the recordable disc. My disc is a dvd-rw and it is empty. Any ideas? Thanks.
