Hi has anybody managed to add menu's to dvd but without losing dvd quality for example people have managed to convert there dvd movies to svcd's or vcds, avi's and then added menu's and then re-encoded them back, and burned them back to dvd with considerable loss of quality. What i am looking for is to keep dvd quality and just add menu's to. if anyone can post any guides will be much appreciated.

Sorry, i am well lost now. You have been rippig your DVD's, converting them to SVCD's, adding menus, converting them from SVCD to DVD, and then burning them?? Is this right? Whay are you doing that. Use TMPGEnc from http://www.chrismccann.co.uk/dvd_r_tools.htm to get the program. In about half an hour i will post a user guide in the user guide section of that website on how to use it.

Cheers. Not Dummies though. It TMPGEnc DVD Author for newbies to that program. If you have used it before you wouldnt need the guide. Its basically to help those who dont know how, to get their episodes and other such things sorted.

Using TMPGEnc to convert, you will need to multiplex the sound to get it to work. You can do that in the menu settings of TMPGEnc. Hope that helps.

Thats fine having the Mpeg file, thats what you need. Next load it into a program called TMPGEnc DVD Author and convert it to DVD compliant formta, ie VOB's, etc... It should take less than 30mins to do this. You can get a user guide for the mentioned program in the user guides section of the website in my signature.
