Hi Guys,

I'm in a bit of a dilema about what laptop I should go for. And I've pretty much narrowed it down to two different laptops, one with teh AMD turion 64 x2 and the other with a core duo processor.

The turion is obviously the 64 bit version which would be nice, but as you can see from the below 2 specs, the 2 computers seem to combat each other to the death in terms of everything, turions graphics capabilities are almost double, but its main floor is that it only has a 1 meg cache and the intel has 2 meg.

I'm a bit of a newby in terms of what would be better for which applications. so any help from anyone in here would be a great help. Does the cache size make such a difference in the overall speed of applications? more of a noticable diffence than double the graphics?

Thanks guys, the 2 comp specs are as follows:

I'm struggling with the same question and would appreciate some feedback. The guy at bestbuy today told me that most of the Geeks recommend the AMD. I've heard that it's good from others. I need to be able to run multiple apps. thanks!

Hey, went for the AMD in the end, think what it boils down to in the end is whetehr you are lyal to intel or AMD, personally i am an Intel man, and have never before gone down the AMD route.

I chose the AMD in the end, because of the graphics card. All new games nowadays require a hefty graphics card and laptops are a buggar beacause its near on impossible to change the onboard graphics, unlike a pc. From what i hear, the 2 meg cache doesnt make that much of a difference to overall speed. The AMD is on special offer at the mo, hence the low price, and its still slightly more expensive than the intel one.

ordered mine yesterday, so fingers crossed, 2 be fair though,m both systems are pretty good for the price so either way, your on to a winner

peace!
