Happy Holidays everyone....Just a heads up "Superman Returns" & "The Ant Bully" does not have any special encryptions unlike See No Evil (LionsGate Release) which has Arccos "Pirates of The Caribean" DMC (Disney Release) which has Macrovisions RipGuard. A good watch and a recent release to theaters on Nov 17th "Lies & Alibis" which goes to DVD (Sony Release) on Dec 5th has Arccos and plays in both wide & full screen.:P

And I bet at least some newbies are going to have issue ripping this regardless. Just like ICE ACE 2: The Meltdown (US, Region 1), it doesn't have any kind of special protection, yet some are having issue ripping & backing up this.

I'm sure Pirates will spawn at least 25 threads on not being able to back the movie up. Just out of curiosity, which movie spawned the most threads, Madagascar, Hitch, or Star Wars?

I wish to emphasize that "Pirates Of The Caribbean" DMC was extremely easy to back up with "No" issues at all and this simplicity I owe to AnyDVD 6.0.8.5 and I believe version 6.0.8.2 will also do the trick. Again I backed this movie up to 4.7GB DVD disc using non-decrypting Nero 7 Recode2. I say this because stacking software to accomplish this can work minus AnyDVD. I read all the time and have personally before commiting to using AnyDVD primarily, used Vob Blanker for films that had Arccos or RipGuard, Vob Blanker backs up the DVD content to my hard drive I would then use Nero or SHRINK in conjunction with Nero to back the file up to disc. simple, worked no problem in most cases.
I would sometime run into some extra tough flicks and saw the need for AnyDVD which I used in the trial version for serveral months. My point here is at the time if I used AnyDVD for a given film, AnyDVD was the remedy the fixall and this is because of SlySofts better than average attentivness to breaking the encryptions found on all DVD's. The confusion I read here at the forum is when a given member post "I used AnyDVD, DVD Decrypter then SHRINK? or some other strange combination that is no doubt creating some sort of software conflict. And guess what the member says after all this "Still No Luck?" I want to make clear that in 99.9% percent of the time and in my experience there is no need to combine AnyDVD with any other decrypting software.
I have had Nero freeze or interupt during burning from what I believe are parts of a given encryption that actually serve to hinder the back up process during the encoding stage and in those cases I resort to CloneDVD2. When using Vob Blanker, DVD Decrypter, to break encryption for a DVD back up, one should only need a burning program like Nero or Roxio. CloneDVD2 is an all in one really, handling every aspect of the back up process with DVD decryption included and a few other neat features. So for anyone using these programs mentioned, know what the software is accomplishing and pair them accordingly (If needed). AnyDVD is constantly updated and needs only to be assisted by a non-decrypting burning software to back up a DVD file or disc to 4.7GB blank disc. I hope this clears up the concoctive notions that go un-needingly into to backing up films. Keep it simple....and if that's complicated get, use, rely on AnyDVD.:p

Happy Holidays Everyone
I'm having trouble with Ice Age 2, using DVD Shrink 3.1.5, AnyDVD 6.0.8.5, and Nero 6.6.1.4 This is the first movie that I have had a problem with. Any suggestions?

@djorgens...Yes my suggestion is to back up Ice Age "The Meltdown" using AnyDVD & Nero Recode2 only. As I explained above there is no need for additional decryption when using AnyDVD. AnyDVD will handle everything.:P

N2DVD,
Thanks, Is Recode2 in the new Ver.7 of Nero? Where is the best place to download it?

Yes...I use Nero 7 Recode2. Once you open Nero click on applications. Nero Recode2 is the 11th selection. This tool is nothing extra with Nero and if you have a full version of this software? Recode2 is again one of the applications. I previously used Nero 6 which also has Recode2 which worked great also. Remember all you'll need is AnyDVD and Nero in most cases to back up given movie with the toughest encryptions and AnyDVD is on the job.
