I really need to get this image file burned to a disc....... First I got a drive reset error then I opened the drive up and reseated the gears. (I'm A+ certified) After that I still got the same error. I changed some settings and upped the ultra buffer to 80 Mb. I have a P3 500 Mhz system with 320 MB of RAM and Windows XP Home. I am using Nero 7 Ultra Edition.
Here is the log. Any help with be great.

Hi DJ_Wolf
Here's some suggestons:
Recorder: <LITE-ON LTR-16101B> Version: TS0L
Update the firmware to TSOW:
http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=543
DiskPeripheral : QUANTUM FIREBALLlct10 20 atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: Off
Your hard drive looks like it's in PIO mode - turn DMA back on.
Memory in use : 77 %
A lot in use - freeing some up would be good.
Give those a go & let us know.

Unfortunately my motherboard doesn't support DMA. I updated firmware from another site to no avail. One thing though.......if I have an IDE CD-RW drive on an ATA cable could that be causing the drive reset error?

Well from the log the LiteOn is in DMA mode so looks like DMA is supported.
CdRomPeripheral : LITE-ON LTR-16101B atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: On
The cable you are using shouldbe backwards compatible to support lower transfer modes.
From what I can see in the log - both drives are connected by ide cable.
The drive is older last support was from 2003. But anything change since you were last able to burn?

No change but I have more details. If I use "Track-at-once" it fails early on in the burning process. If I use "Disc-at-once" it fails right at the end. Sometimes it fails at the begining of actually trying to write the image though.

Give another program a shot - try this good free one ImgBurn.
If it's an image/iso just open it to burn. If not an iso then use the build mode to add the files to burn.
Have you tried other media or a little higher burn speed?

Tried 16x, 8x, 2x everything. Also I have tried 6 different programs. All result in a small variety of errors.

Well at this point try different media. Look for made in Japan Maxell or Fuji (usually made by Taiyo Yuden). Great cd media.
Next try this drive in another pc - may just be on it's way out. If it fails in another than you know it's the drive.
