I got a PSP last December and i don't know what version it is.
I think i remember doing some sort've update but i'm not sure.

Is there a way to check which version my PSP is currently on?

Go to 'Settings' on the far left of the menu, then scroll down to 'System Settings'. Near the bottom should be 'System information', click on this and it will tell you the firmware.

eg. System Software Version 2.6

Says 2.6, is that the version that'll brick the PSP if i try to downgrade it?

no you can easily downgrade it considering you dont have a TA-082 motherboard.

You can currently downgrade a PSP with firmware up to 2.71

The post was made on July 3rd, are the download links and instructions still good to use to Downgrade from 2.6 to 1.5?

Is that thread up to date?

Is my "PSP Version"(2.6 the one you helped me find) the same thing as a "Firmware" or "Firmwire"?

I'm reading things about needing a certain version and some about needed a certain Firmware/Firmwire version and i'm not sure if they are the same thing.
