If i have created this thread in the wrong section, or if there is already a solution to the following problem plz redirect me and im sorry.

Well, I have had this burner for a few years now, and i recently got my slim ps2 modified with a H20 Modchip being installed. Now i have been reading all threads regarding backing ps2 games 100% in this forum, and most of them talk about having to book type the dvd to make the ps2 think it is a dvd-rom. That sounds like a smart idea, but unfortunately when i put in a DVD-R or DVD+R and using DVD Decrypter i cant enable the booktype setting. Plz tell me if there is something wrong with the burner, or i have to update the drive (Plz tell me the link that can help me do that) and all help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advanced!

Some drives don't support booktype; that could be your problem. Also, you can't booktype DVD-R to DVDROM; only DVD+R can be booktyped.

What model is your drive? I'll look into it.

Ok wehn the drive first came out, there was no Booktype support; however, I think it has been fixed in a mere firmware update.

UPDATE HERE

Update that, and,I think, it should fix your issue.

However if it doesn't, you can try using this utility that will enable it, but I haven't tested it, or seen it reviewed.
Bitsetting utility

So the bitsetting utility doesn't work?
If that doesn't work, then there is no way to booktype your disks, sorry.

LG are being harrassed to make a firmware update to enable it; but as of yet, I think there hasn't been any.
