Hi, this morning I was playing my psp and everything was fine and dandy until 2nite, I go to turn it on, but when I try to, the green light "lights" quickly 1 time when I flip the switch trying to power it on. (It will not boot at all, it will not power on, even with a full battery.) I'm in desperate need of assistance. I want to know if my psp is bricked and if there is anyway to unbrick it if it is?

Can it charge? Does it boot when the power cable is plugged in?
If its bricked, the only way to fix it is buy buying a new motherboard or by buying a modchip.

Do you think Walmart would be stupid enough, if I buy a new psp and immediately put my bricked one, in the box, and say it won't boot out of the box, like it got dropped or beat up? Just a thought. I've had my psp since 2 days after it came out, I need a working one bad.

Well, it doesn't hurt to try :)
I've heard that someone bricked their PSP and said it suddenly turned off while updating and they got their money back :)

Hi pgod51, did you drop it? Try removing the battery for a while (1/2 hour) the fix it back and try again. Remove any UMD before turning it on. Might work.

haha Pgod, i did that at best buy. I had a bricked psp so i took back, swapped serial codes and replaced the PSPs. So i returned my brick PSP in a new box. However, in the end I still payed $400 for 2 PSPs. (no money gain)

I figured it out. I took my psp apart (my warranty has been gone for awhile anyway). I looked at the the screen, it was cracked so I unplugged it. My psp would turn on when the screen isn't plugged in so I just threw the screen away and ordered a new one on the internet. (I kept the backlight if anyone was wondering.) Thx but I fixed the problem on my own. It was just a short in the circuit board.
