Is there a simple way of doing a bulk deletion of all music etc on a pod?

If you delete everything out of iTunes and then try to update your iPod again it will clear everything out. Then if you want you can put all your files back into iTunes after.

I was kinda hoping that there was a way of just delting the music off the pod in one "hit" (without doing it on a 1 by 1 basis) but I guess not. Thanks for your help.

did you read his post. there is a way. Just delete it all from itunes and update it. All you have to do is select all the music in itunes, hold shit, and clear... simple.

@Shado36
Are you trying to clear all the music off your iPod? Or clear all the music out of iTunes? Because you thread states "wiping I-tunes" but then you talk about "a pod" and everyone else is talking about iTunes so what is it?

Ronin is right you can just reinstall the firmware for the iPod. It will wipe all the data off the drive and when its all done you'll have a fresh iPod.

Got it sorted thanks. I just had to put a new battery in my daughters i-pod mini. A bit fiddly to to but its fully charged now with a new high capacity battery. She will have to re-load all her "songs" now also!
