I have searched (both here & other forums) and can not find the answer, I have a mp3 file which plays perfect on my computer, but when burnt it plays a high pitch noise & a message on one track, can someone let me know what type of protection and is there a way of creating a back up without this happening,

thats pretty strange, as mp3 files don't have DRM copy protection embedded in them like other compressed formats. Are you sure its an mp3, not a wma or something else? What program are you using to burn your mp3s to audio CD? Give this a try...download dBPowerAMP. It is a free audio converter utility. You can find the link to its website in my sig below. Using dBPowerAMP, convert the mp3 file to a uncompressed wave file, then listen to the wave file in winamp or whatever you use to listen to your music. see if you get the same problem with the wave file.

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:

The source was a download, and is 1 large Mp3 with a cue, if you listen to the file on pc it is o.k and the protection is not there until its burnt to disc when the noise & message appear over track 12.
If I convert the file I cannot burn as the cue file does not recognise the Mp3. I am using Feurio to burn.
