sammorris,
Oh ye of little faith!
http://www.nmediapc.com/IC.htm The install instructions are there that show installation for the K8 & AM2. Bet you didn't notice where they start out hinting very strongly that they will compare their product to HeatPipe coolers, but somehow, past that statement, never get around to it. I stand by what I said as they totally mis-represent the product! The Zalman is the clear winner here!

Best Regards,
Russ

On this side of the pond, we call it Gobly-Gook, or a fancy way of implying promises that are never really made or meant to be kept! A bit like that CPU cooler that sat on a little ball contraption that was a total flop about a year ago. Someone posted an add for it here. I believe it was about $15. Here's a helpful hint to all that may have been interested. It didn't do the job back when it was first introduced. Some fly by night company bought it and now is selling it at a bargain price. Same exact product! Does anyone honestly think that it somehow improved itself by sitting unsold on the shelf for a year or more? ROFLMAO!!

I would avoid doing business with any company that promoted their products that way. It's just less than honest!

Best Regards,
Russ

Update on 45nm processors and pricing,

You will never see them at those prices! It's just BS! Maybe after they are out a while, but when they hit the shelves, I'll guarantee the prices will be much higher!

"powerful" 9 series. Everything I've read suggests it's going to be a pretty minor upgrade, just enough to make sure nvidia keep their performance crown. Let's hope they've included PS4.1 and DX10.1 support in this card, or I'll still be telling people to get 3870s.

I can't see how NVIDIA could justify the extra what £300 for a graphics card that will maybe just do Crysis abit better?

Heck, 2 3870's with the crossfire patch will do some good stuff.

Oh and the bad state the economy is in atm has been reflected in my build, i just logged onto dabs/bt shop to see that my corsair 520w, 3870 and case had all went up about £6 each.

IMO a single 3870 is good enough. I don't think the cost is worth it for Crossfire. An extra £150 for the card and up to an extra £100 a year in electricity bills, for what?

Please stop using them for the Corsair HX 520W. You're wasting £20 straight away with their stupid price.

geezus christ!!!!

i even said, you can find the partsd cheaper else where, and the list is just for the actual parts, not price.

The new 9 series cards are just two G92 512MB cards in SLI in a one card solution. The only difference is that they have one gig of ram while normal SLI doesn't double the RAM. If a game doesn't support SLI it will be like having half the normal power of the card, that is if SLI scales a 100% which it doesn't.

You might need to assign the second partition a drive letter. Check in diskmgmt.msc (type that in a run box)

Yeah I mentioned the 7950GX2 but that post got canceled and I didn't feel like writing as much the next time lol.

Also are you sure you make two partitions? Or did you just make one partition and left the other space unused and assumed it would just become a partition? You could try to pop in your windows CD and see if it lets you name it.

ok let me say this right...lol

bigwill68 is building him a new system..he is useing his IDE 320gb hdd.along with a new 160gb sata drive.in his old system it saw the 320 as 2 drives 160 gb each and it was partition'd in the old system.and showed it as haveing 160 as drive D and 160 as drive E.

but he took it out and put it in his new build and it is only showing 1 side of the 320gb instead of showing both sides.

someone at microcenter told him he had to put it back in his old system and make it 1 drive again. then put it back in the new system?????

Quality CPU and RAM, just never used XFX for motherboard but most people dont have problems with their graphics cards if that means anything.

Try to get individual parts. If you're gonna do your PC in the summer then its useless to look now.

The cosmos is a very good case. I would rather get the Thermaltake Armor case buts its 3 pounds more and is out of stock.

cincyrob,
If the operating system you installed on the new drive is the same as the one on old drive, it may not see the first partition of the old drive. You can easily set up dual boot, but they have to be different operating systems for it to work. Not 100% sure on this but that may be the problem.

Best Regards,
Russ
