Well, to the people that were talking about fans, I've got all Asus systems, older one's that use DDR memory, XP CPU's and a box of fans. I have been creative to cut into some of the cases and addes fans. But get this. I did buy a new Dell last year, opened it up for a cleaning and looked at the Dell heatsink fan-plastic tube comming from the aluminum heatsink to a 120mm fan on the rear of the case. Very cheap, no wonder Dell Rep. said dont use as a Gamming computer. I only paid $299. + tax w/ 17" LCD Monitor. Guess it's ok for web, and files, light games that are not to complex. I use Plextor Writers for my burning projects, did buy a Sony for $35.00 at Tigerdirect, and yes you get what you pay for. I only use TY's -R's and with hundreds of burns I only had 1 coaster. With the Sony, 4 out of 5 first burns were bad. I thought my Plextor was bad, put it back in and it's working like it did when it was new. So I need to remember when I dod my cleaning I should also unplug everything and plug back in. I think that was the problem. Look at the Northbridge Heatsinks on most of the new boards, if you can find small fans, they do screw onto the heatsink I just did it to a A7N8X-VM that was running hot, not any more. Thanks for your time. Danmax

Oh god, i remember the debate i got into with someone here over Taiyo Yuden media. From my experience the Sony DVD+R Accucore discs yielded better results. I still have a full pack of 100 TY discs so ill retry them with my Pioneer drive.

Hi, He_Man, My Brother inlaw used alot of Sony disc's I bought some as well. I dont think I had trouble with them, but for a while Sony was branding TY's. We found that out with Nero. It seemed they only did that for a while. I think when they were 4x's discs. I just have had good luck w/TY's. I use Fab, so maybe thats why, I dont know.

Someone say Nazi? Funny stuff here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gewdaLQ31lo
Sony were ty's for the longest time. Really havent seen that since majority of discs in the stores are 16x now instead of 8x.
All you guys talking about fans in here remind me that I'll need to order some to go with the Armor case I still havent used.
Any recommendations Abuzer?

You don't need any more fans dude. That case is full of 'em!
They aren't that bad. If you don't have a phobia of sound you'll be fine. They aren't even that loud but of course Sam wouldn't stand them. Try them out before deciding to spend loads of money on fans.

800rpm: 21.8dB. This effectively sums up why I don't use the Silverstones. For you they're obviously the fan of choice, but for real silent computing, Nexus/Scythe is where it's at.
I'm not talking any more on the subject.

Deadrum33,
Quote: Sony were ty's for the longest time.
I bought the last 200 Sony/TYs that CompUSA had, for $4.99 per fifty! 8x, but so what! Much better than the ones Sony sold after that!
Best Regards,
Russ

Russ, do you get a lot of bullcrap from your customers? Do people go like take 400 dollars off and I'll but it and stupid stuff like that?
Man these people are pissing me off. You give them better prices than Bestbuy and these other stores with longer warranties and I even overclock this stuff for them and they STILL want it to be cheaper!

I'm not jealous :P Ok maybe a little. I still have some of those too but I wont turn this into the DocTY (RIP, takes hat off in respect...) thread.
I will ask one last time if you can think of anything that a truly dedicated workbench for building and repairing PC's should have, if even for the silliest convenience. I'm about a week (or 2 if lazy) from finishing cleaning up and final decorating.

Deadrum, that is what i'm working on now is a "u" shaped 2 level bench. the 1 leg of the "u" is higher then the other 2 legs which are at sit down level. what level of repair do you want to goto & do you think this should have it's own thread?

Nope! I just sell business machines to Professionals. Doctors, Lawyers and Accountants! All good quality stuff with on-board video, Dual core, 1GB DDR2/PC6400 memory, 80GB HD, DVD Burner, nice case, Keyboard and mouse. Under $600! It's fast to build, and I never have any problems since there's no overclocking. They provide the OS. I gave up on higher end computers because of exactly what you are complaining about! It's not worth arguing with some of those idiots! I laugh in their face when they tell me how cheap WalMart and BestBuy are. I just tell them to go there and buy it then! Let them find out the hard way! ROFLMAO!
Best regards,
Russ

DDP-Thanks for reply, I already have bench anchored into concrete foundation, roughly 8' wide by 3' deep. Im adding 2 20Amp breakers into my electric box, running wire to a few different outlets on both sides with a bank of overhead lights on a dimmer switch next week. Then I finish painting and making the entire area "homey" instead of spartan basement like.
I was mostly asking about about tricks of the trade probably 10-20 pages ago. Anything I should build into it or toys I couldnt live without. A few people responded with saying magnetic tools but I've since read through a few of the training manuals to pass the CompTIA A+ Certification which specifically say avoid them. It makes sense, I figure next time I build, I'll get around the problem by having a case with pullout mobo tray that way I dont drop anything in places they shouldnt be.

NOW that sounds pretty cool until you get to the "final decorating" part. hehehe. :P So you built a dedicated work area for PC building??? I'd have to rebuild my house or buy another one to get the available spaced needed. lol.
GOOD luck with that....
What do you guys think about this case?? link I'm considering buying it for a future build. For the money how could anyone refuse?? lol.
