ok i need some help sorry....
i was followig the steps until u ran into an "Update Maker" which is not in anything i have...i googled it and dont get anything and searched in my pc with the search tool and i dont have it...can anyone give me a link or something?? here are the steps i was following:
* Extract seupdmaker, seupdmaker%, 271seflasher and 271seflasher% from the NEWINSTALL folder into your GAME150 Folder (GAME folder on 1.50 or if you've changed it from the Recovery menu in 2.71 SE)
* Download the 1.50 and 2.71 Firmware updates.
* Rename the update PBP files to 150.PBP and 271.PBP
* Move them to the seupdmaker folder.
* After that, run the UPDATE MAKER application from the GAME menu. Once it's done making the DXAR file, move the newly generated DXAR file to the 271seflasher folder.
* Run 271 SE Flasher from the GAME menu to install 2.71 SE-C.
* Once installed, you can delete all the four folders.

just follow the steps, the UPDATE MAKER is the folder seupdmaker that you copied onto your mem stick, just laubnch it from the xmb like youd do with other homebrew.
i think the eboot is called 2.71 SE-C update maker.

I have made the se-c upgrade if you want me to upload it for you.
Then all you gotta do is run it.

ARGH! I was having the same problem the original poster had--I didn't have the "update maker." I followed the install instructions for 2.71 SE-C, then ran the SE 271 Flasher on my PSP. Nothing--no DXAR file created. I google, find this thread, and download the SE-C installer executeable program. It starts running, then hangs at about 70% complete.
I am a computer science/software guy, but I will freely admit I'm a total noob at this stuff. I'd be eternally grateful for any help/guidance...
BTW, I even completely reformatted my memory stick before trying to run this whole thing, to no avail.
