Hi there. Can you use simply the latest version of DVDFABDECRYPTER 3.0.4.0 and DVDSHRINK to back up Cars and Superman Returns or do you have to use VobBlanker 2.1.2.0b8 or FIXVTS 1.6 to do either of these. If you use FIXVTS do you "Clean up" or the "whole DVD" and do you do all the VTS files & do you check off all three items or do you do a Backup(3)? I'm still a little green at this, I guess at least with some of the new protection. I can't seem to eliminate the jitters and small freeze-ups in some of the programs my grandson has purchased.

Both of these movies/DVDs (CARS and SUPERMAN RETURNS) are nothing special. Even DVD Decrypter alone can rip it via MODE, File F smoothly. However, both DVDFAB Decrypter and RipIt4Me ripped through them flawlessly. I've tested these 3 methods and so far, all worked like a charm -- as usual; "it's easy as sippin' on a Corona."

Try the "new guide" given at the above reply. The new guide was designed to rip any DVDs (including RipGuard and ARccOS/PuppetLock), if followed the instructions correctly.

Best of luck!!

Thanks guys for your help. Alkohol, you mention DVDFABDECRYPTER which I've used a lot to burn my grandson's DVDV's. What other programs do you recommend with DVDFAB for the above titles to insure a good back-up. I've tried DVDFAB and then DVDSHRINK to make an ISO and then burn with IMGBURN but they have jitters and hang-ups with them. I'm using Maxell dvd-r's 16x compatible and am burning at 2X. I would appreciate a comment on the above.
Right now I'm burning the ISO image of Superman Returns after using your combo of RIPIT4ME + FIXVTS +DVDSHRINK and then IMGBURN. This metod seems to take a lot longer but if it works, that's the bottom line.
I will let you know once IMGBURN is done.
I'm just used to using DVDFABDECRYPTER & DVDSHRINK with VobBlanker sometimes but I couldn't get neither Cars or Superman Returns done successfully even though it says that they are completed successfully.

That is still my primary method and RipIt4Me is my 2nd method. To be honest with you, I haven't encountered any DVDs/movies that it can not be ripped or backup.

Best of luck!!

I tried as suggested the RIPIT4ME + FIXVTS combo along with DVDSHINK & IMGBURN on SUPERMAN RETURNS and the result worked just great. It took a lot longer than DVDFABDECRYPTER + DVDSHINK but it was 100% effective. I'm trying it now on CARS.
What I would like to know from those in the know is this. My download of RIPIT4ME has FIXVTS Version 1.60 which kicks in automatically. How do I incorporate Version 1.602 into the mix to replace 1.60.
I would very much appreciate a reply.

I'm also thinking that just maybe my problems with the small freeze-ups & jitters in OVER THE HEDGE & CARS & SUPERMAN RETURNS were because of the DVD-R's I was using although I had no problems in the past that I recall when using those brands. I'm speaking of the MEMOREX DVD-R's and the MAXELL ones both 16x compatible. I was only burning at 2X at the time. Any comments on these brands.

i'll be buying Superman Returns on Monday and if DVD Shrink alone can't handle it, i'll use the awesome DVDFab Decrypter (free) followed by DVD Shrink.

Alcohol, you seem to be on of the elder statesmen on this site and you as well as ArnieBear and others have helped me immensely with my problems with my grandson's dvd's. Can you read my reply in this thread of Dec.1st and explain to me (or anyone knowledgeable for that matter) how I can incorporate as mentioned on Dec.1st how to upgrade FIXVTS 1.60 to 1.602 to work in conjunction with RIPIT4ME. When I downloaded RIPIT4ME, 1.60 of FIXVTS came down as well.
Many thanks again for everybody's help. Those tutoroials are worth their weight in gold, how could a person go wrong by following the detailed steps. By the way, I tried a different brand of DVD-R's, the Verbatim brand and they work fine for CARS, SUPERMAN RETURNS,and other Disney ones using DVDFABDECRYPTER + DVDSHRINK. I know that Alkohol swears by this method.

Either method is great and flawless, if you know what you're doing. Regardless if it's RipIt4Me or DVDFAB Decrypter, just make sure to get the latest updates on both and you'll be fine.

I've seen lots of newbies repeatedly said; "I can't backup this, I can't backup that, etc." and to be honest I have never had any issue with DVDFAB Decrypter then getting rid of unwanted junks with VobBlanker.

The same thing apply to RipIt4Me, yes.. it is definitely one of the best FREE ripper now beside DVDFAB Decrypter. That being said; whenever I ripped any DVD/movie, I usually tested these 2 methods (DVDFAB Decrypter and RipIt4Me) and both worked flawlessly. However, DVDFAB Decrypter is a little bit faster that's all.

To answer your question in regards to "how to incorporate or upgrade FixVTS to work with RipIt4Me." Simply extract the new FixVTS into the same directory as C:\Program Files\RipIt4Me\FixVTS.exe and replace that with the new version and you'll be fine.

Best of luck!!

Its great to have you guys around staying up on the free programs to burn, because just like AnyDVD says, use it as much as you can and I do and it help burn everthing. Cars was easy and when I get Superman Returns I'm sure it will be easy too.If they ever shut down AnyDVD I'll be picking your brain!

Hi Alcohol:

Thanks for the info, it's always informative and very complete. I will do that with the latest versions of FIXVTS and place the "exe" file where you say.
I'm thinking that the brand of DVD's might have something to do with the quality of the burn. I was having jitters & minor freeze-ups in some back-ups but since I've changed to Verbatim dvd's I haven't had a bad burn. It's strange though because I never before had problems with Memorex DVD-R's or Maxell DVD-R'S.
Again, Many Thanks!!!
