EDIT: #3 - System Files (Use these for X as select in DevHook.)

Get 'em here.

Installation: Put the system files in ms0:\dh\282\F1\registry when pasting, say "Yes to all" to overwrite.

EDIT: #2:

--------------------------------------

OPTIONS and SETTINGS for DevHook v0.50:

UMD SELECT -> File Emulation -> Choose your ISO
FIRMWARE -> firmware 2.82 (MS or flash+MS)
CPU CLOCK -> default (333 will STILL make your PSP crash!)
BOOT MODE -> XMB MENU
FLASH ROM -> Only do this if you want to write to the PSP's onboard Flash.
OTHER MENU -> PRELOAD 0x88e00000 <- This one works for me and always has. Just use whichever preload address has always worked for you. If you're new to DevHook and you're not sure, try ALL Preload addresses.

That's it. Good luck.

--------------------------------------

Yea, you read correctly. I used the Japanese EBOOT so I could have the buttons switched around like I like them. (O for select instead of X)

I have the complete set up and it works. Only thing I don't like is you can't exit from the menu (thru the EBOOT) and you can't exit thru the exit option in 2.82 XMB by hitting home and selecting "Reboot without DevHook". The PSP just freezes in both occasions.

But if anyone's interested, you can get it here. (Megaupload)

You can also get it here. (SendSpace)

Oh, and how do you like this? Booster used the OLD logo from DevHook v0.22 which is ugly as sin. Plus, it shows up like crap if you have used PSPersonalize or Flashmod for custom backgrounds in 1.50. So I used PIC1 and ICON0 from PochiStyle; looks much nicer.

Yea, I already did that. Don't worry about it. You can't make this build unless you have done that or it won't work and this is confirmed working. :D By ME.

Have fun, homie.

You have to mess w/ the preload address option under the OTHER setting in the DevHook menu. Also, make sure you're launching at default CPU speed.

Lemme know if you have any other problems. Oh yea and I'll get on that other button version for you, itachisan. It'll be up later.

peace

Hi,

I have tried to follow a guide to the "Devhook 0.50".

I have 2.80. Now, i have set the Kd folder at the MS and put the "__SCE__DH_ENG" and "%__SCE__DH_ENG" in the GAME folder.

I have taked the 2.82 DATA.PSAR file to the root of my MS too.

Now i have putted the to PSAR dumper folders and the src folder in the GAME folder.

Now when i try to start PSAR dumper it's stays on the PSP logo and then my PSP shuts down! Someone can help?

im here.

Can you actually run homebrew on a 2.80? lol

oh and the src folder is just for other coders who want to look at the work of the application. (Maybe to modify it) You can delete it and it won't have any effect on the app itself.

EDIT: See my first post for DevHook v0.50 actual settings.

@ ReaZeN: You can use it on 2.80 if you were using DevHook before on 2.80 FW. I don't know anything about HEN C or w/e b/c I'm still at 1.50. (1.50 FOREVER!!!) So if you ARE able to use a certain method for launching homebrew on your 2.80 PSP, then this should work, too.

@ shadow345: Just put the dh folder in the ms0 (root of your memory stick, which is also known as the very 1st screen you see when you plug your PSP into the PC.) Then, put the ___SCE___DH_ENG and ___SCE___DH_ENG% in PSP/GAME. That's it. How's that for n00b friendly? lol

NEVERMIND - I have the files I need. I'll get them up for you folks.

Hey, does anyone here have the English version of DevHook working? The one where X is the select button? (I mean past installments, not the most current version of DevHook.)

B/c I just checked and the files responsible for the button swapping in 2.82 are NOT encrypted. So, if anyone has a past version of DevHook where X is select, do this - go to:

ms0:\dh\271\flash1\registry - put those files up on the net and post the link here, if you would be so kind. (The files are called system.dreg (128kb) and system.ireg (15kb)

For anyone who is going to need these files (system.dreg and system.ireg), download those files (once someone has uploaded them and put them in the same location as listed above. (ms0:\dh\271\flash1\registry) Reset DevHook and your PSP will work normally. (Where X is select)

:D

@ EVERYONE: If you would like to have X as the select button in the newest version of DevHook, d/l the System Files in my FIRST post in this thread.

@ shadow345: They should've been in v0.50 DevHook. (In w/ all the folders)
