another program that I could try using that is very similar to Utorrent? Utorrent just isnt working for me because of stoping at 95% all the time. Then once I get it there I try downloading something else and it wont even start until I uninstall the whole program and then reinstall it then that movie also stopped at 95% I'm so frustrated with this program. I wish there was someone in these forums located near Ft Wayne, Indiana and new what you were doing I'd pay you a little to come configure my router cause everytime I try it doesn't seem to work. Well let me know about my question please or if any advice would help. I have a Westell 6100 router if that helps

A router is likley not your problem. Could be fake files or your isp. If you get 95% the program is not just going to give up. Check for yourself, Take the router out of the network line and run straight through.

Are you conected to a router? If you are just unplug the cable from the wall that plugs into the router and plug it directly into the network card on the computer. And then reboot. A router only moves data, it has no clue what or how much be it 5% or 95%. Your router is not the problem as even without forwarding it would take longer but would finish 100%

Edit wish i could spell :-)

Yes so there is no reason for port forwarding. It's a fake file designed to do what it's doing.

Eh, your friend might be wrong, lots of modems these days have routers built in. However, if you're getting green lights, then he's probably right. However, if you're that new, I'm sure you're not running something like PG2, in which case you're begging to get caught, lose your internet connection, and get sued.

Scared yet?

And there really aren't may fake files out there in BT land. More often it's that your client has downloaded corrupted data and keeps re-downloading it and can't move on, this can be because the actual torrent is flawed, or that you got it from a corrupted file on someone else's machine (like they didn't actually finish downloading it, then they closed the program and opened it to seeding), or it could be a caching error, or any of a bajillion things. You can specifically view the file in the torrent that you are currently downloading, if you can locate which file it's hanging on, stop the torrent, close the client, delete that file, and restart the torrent, that generally fixes the problem.

But, if you're not running PG2 or safepeer or something similar, STOP NOW and don't do anything else until you are.

From what I can tell on the Westell web site 6100's have routers and mention forwarding. There are many models of the 6100 so the model number is actually a few more numbers. All the software, Test programs, And manuals are on the Westell web site. But again it's not the modem. You do not need to forward, it just takes longer to finish. I think I would forget that download cause you never know what your going to get.

I would not put much faith in those supposed protection filter programs. New domains and IP addresses take only a minute to conger up. You play, You could pay. Chance you take. Word to the wise.
