VLC (a homebrew app) only works on 1.5?

Hello,

I have a TA-082 and so have to use HEND and run in emulation mode. I am running DEVHOOK Launcher/VSHEX Mod (followed steps outlined in this 'howto' http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/399310 )

I works - for the most part. I'm not really all that much concerned with being able to run ISOs (it's a 'nice to have' to check out games; but I play so few games that I simply buy them). Having said that - I did TRY two ISOs to make sure my install works properly. Sure enough - it does (ISOs can be mounted from mem stick with 2.71 emulation; I did not try ISO over USB as I really don't need it).

However, I only seem to be able to run VLC v.0.0.9 by JockyW with 1.5 emulation and it does NOT work with 2.71 emulation. This wouldn't be a problem - except that 1.5 doesn't seem to have a browser. A browser is handy for remote channel changing (I watch live TVstreamed from a PC to the PSP over WiFi). Not to mention the need for several hard boots to go back and forth between emulated 1.50 and emulated 2.71

Is there something that can be done in order to allow homebrew to run in 2.71 ? My devhook settings (the ones that seem to pertain to being able to run VLC in emulated 2.71) are as follows:

HEN (2.71 only): enabled
UMD SFO VERSION: 2.xx to 2.00
(I'm pretty sure this second setting doesn't matter for homebrew; but that's what I have it set for).

Suggestions would be much appreciated!
