I am having problems with copying a dvd. It is not even copy protected, so that is not my issue. It is a DVD DL disk with a little less than 8mb on it. When I try to copy it with DVD Clone it gives me a redundency error while reading the disk. It plays just fine on a DVD player and on the computer. I even tried with Nero to copy it with the same error. I was able to copy it with internet explorer to my computer without a hiccup. I tried using DVD Clone to copy it from the computer to a DVD-DL but it would not play on the home DVD player, although it would on my computer. Now what do I do or what am I doing wrong. Also I have AnyDVD and DVD Clone.

Thanks,
Patrick

willisp33 hi :)

A "CRC" error is most often caused by bad media - it could be any of the following:

1. A dirty disc,
2. A scratched disc
3. A poor quality disc (cheap media if it happens during the "Burn" section of your work)
4. A bad disc from the Mfgr.
5. It can also be due to structural copy protection on a disk.
6. It can also be from a bad optical component in your drive.

seeing as you have AnyDVD to zap the nasties i would say it was one of the above except 5

Thanks for the help. I am going to guess bad media. It was odd that it plays fine and it copied fine with internet explorer. Thanks

If a DVD plays on a computer but not a stand alone, this usually means the disk was not burned as a DVD-Video.

Try burning it as a DVD-Video with Nero from the copy on your PC. If Nero has a problem generating a correct structure, it will tell you before the burn starts.

How do you copy with Internet Exporer? It's a browser.

Try DVDDecypter ISO-> Read ISO Write, but choose the MDS file for the Write.

hi :)
as MysticE says decrypter is the king

a small guide

the easiest way to burn a D/L i've found is with AnyDVD running in the back ground using dvddecrypter as follows. also decrypter handles the layer break better than most

after it is ripped to HDD

if it does not auto select the file you have just ripped

Thanks for all the help. I found out that my "newer, Better DVD player" is more finicky than my older one and it did not like the DVD. I will try DVD Decripter nextime, although CloneDVD2 has done a great job so far with AnyDVD in the background.
Thanks for the help
