i would stay on 2.82 until 3.00 is cracked. That is what most hacked would be working on (3.00)and it is unlikly you will need any of the features on 3.00 anyway. Stay on 2.82 until a higher firmware is cracked

The only reason to uptade to 3.0 is to be able to hook your PSP to your PS3 (if you have a PS3). Also you to have 3.0 to download the PSOne emulator and games on your PSP, but to do that you need a PS3. As of right now you can only get the PSOne Emu and games through a PS3. http://www.engadget.com/2006/11/21/psp-f...ut-in-the-wild/
