After reading here a while , I am starting to think that the reason why I have wasted about 5 new DVDs, and had burning errors after DVD Shrink gets ready to burn, is that I have Media Center in my new PC..as you know it brings this Sonic software. My question is: does anyone know whether Sonic creates conflict issues with Nero? I am running Nero 6.6 and I just burned 2 movies on my old PC that were giving problems in the new one (with the Sonic amd Media Center)....any help??
Thanks in advance!

Hi dolphman
I run Sonic & Nero 6 on my laptop without a conflict. It's usually the packet writing software drivers that can cause the problem - Nero's InCD or Roxio Drag to disc (or something like that).

You might have another problem. Could be just need a firmware update or that drive doesn't like the media even though the other drive does.

You can post the failed Nero log - just need the last one.
You can find it here: program files>ahead>nero>nero history

Just be sure to edit out the serial # - begins w/ 1A, 1C or 5C.

Yes you do have the packet writing from Roxio which can cause conflicts.

Best to keep it all to one thread so follow the advice & post back in the thread you have in the Nero section:
Update both packages of Nero to 6.6.0.18. Uninstall Roxio and run the zap tool - this will clean out all traces of Roxio/Sonic.
