I'm backing up "main movie only" Pirates 2 with DVDFAB, DVDShrink and Nero. Have tried this twice and gotten the same error messate "burning process failed at 8x (11,080 KB/s)." Any suggestions? Here's my burning log...

Here's some suggestions:
Recorder: <QSI DVD+-RW SDW-082> Version: LX44 Looks like you need a firmware update - the latest is LX48. Here's a link.
Recorder: QSI DVD+-RW SDW-082, Media type: DVD+R The drive doesn't recognize the media - only that it's +R media. Usually you will see the media info here too. The firmware update may help this.
You are also getting this SCSI_TASTATUS_CHKCOND which can be pointing the drive not liking the media.
What media are you using?
Burn process failed at 8x For this drive try 4x or 6x.
File 'Drivers\CDRALW2K.SYS' Roxio and Nero don't always play well together. May want to uninstall Roxio if all else fails & run the zap tool to remove all traces.

Weird thing is I could back up the entire dvd, but this problem happened when I tried to back up the Main Movie only.
The firmware link scared me . . . looks complicated. I'll tackle that one over the weekend when I have more time.
I'm using Verb DVD+R 16x media . . . think that's a good one.
Another question, how do I change it to burn from 8x to 4x? I know it's somewhere in the Nero program but can't locate it.
Didn't know I had Roxie on that computer so I'll uninstall it.
Thought I had all this stuff down . . . guess it always keeps changing.

Your getting the same errors in the new failed log - SCSI_TASTATUS_CHKCOND & Unable to recover TOC
Since it's an 8x speed drive with older firmware the firmware may help w/ these 16x discs.
Verbs are good too but 16x media may not be good for this drive - didn't find many good things about this drive in a quick google.
To change the burn speed in Shrink when you click 'backup' click on the burn settings tab - you can change it there.
Give that a go and let us know. (still might want to dump Roxio too to rule out everything)
