Dark_Alex just released a port of DevHook 0.51 allowing you to run it on firmware 2.71 (for all you TA082A people).

To install this you will need to have DevHook 0.46 and HEND installed first. Follow this guide to get those set up: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/399310

Now onto install DevHook 0.51.

1. Download the firmware 3.01 DATA.PSAR from here:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NEPVMEIS

2. Place it in the root of your memory stick (i.e X:\ where X is the drive letter of your PSP). Like so:

3. Download PSAR Dumper from here:
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/933

4. Extract PSARDumper_300.zip and then copy psar_dump2% and psar_dump2 to your X:\PSP\GAME folder .Note: X is the drive letter of your PSP.

5. Now get your PSP out of USB Mode. Make sure you don't have a UMD inserted. Then go to PHOTO-->Memory Stick and select the HEND directory. A blue screen will appear. Wait until the PSP automatically reboots. If it freezes, just repeat this step until you get it to work.

6. Go to GAME-->Memory Stick and select DevHook 0.4X for 2.71.

7. Select FIRMWARE and select firmware 1.5 and then click START to start DevHook.

8. Now get into the 1.5 XMB and then go to GAME-->Memory Stick and select PSAR Dumper 2B

9. When PSAR Dumper loads, press X

10. When the dumping is finished your PSP will go back to the XMB. Go to USB Mode.

11. Download Dark_Alex's DevHook 0.51 port for firmware 2.71 from here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=TQPF2JPH

12. Extract devhook051_271.rar and then copy all of the files in the folder MS_ROOT to the root of your memory stick (X:\ where X is the drive letter of your PSP).
The files shown should be copied to your memory stick:

13. Now, browse to the root of your memory stick. You should see a folder called "F0". Copy this folder to X:\dh\301 (where X is the drive letter of your PSP). Click Yes when there is a prompt asking if you want to replace files.

14. Now, turn off your PSP and turn it on again. You should be back in 2.71. Now run HEND again (bu going to PHOTO-->Memory Stick-->HEND and waiting till your PSP auto-resets).

15.Go to GAME-->Memory Stick and select DevHook 0.51 BETA. As shown in this screenshot:

16. DevHook will start. But WAIT...we aren't done yet. When DevHook loads go to FLASH INSTALL and select "install config file to flash1:" and then hold O for 1 second. When it is finished it will say "Pres any button to return", so just press any button and you will return to the menu. (Note: If you had installed any previous versions of DevHook files to flash, first click on "uninstall DH files from flash1:" and hold down O then repeat for the first option).

17. Now you are ready to go. Once you are back in the menu, go to FIRMWARE and make sure 3.01 is selected. Now go to BOOT MODE and select XMB MENU. Then go to START DEVHOOK.

18. It should say "Start up the devhook" and a few other lines of text and then it will boot to firmware 3.01!

19. Now get out of DevHook and place your ISO files in X:\ISO where X is the drive letter of your PSP.

20. Now go back to DevHook and this time go to UMD SELECT-->File Emulation and select the ISO you want to run. Make sure you have a UMD inserted and then click on START DEVHOOK. Then it will load the XMB again. Then go to GAME-->UMD and then it will load your ISO.

Also, other than allowing you to run ISOs of the latest games, DevHook 0.51 allows you to use all the new features of 3.01 (but this is still a beta and attempting to go into some menus will bring up a BSoD and you will have to restart). These new features include: camera, visualisations, PS3 remote connectivity and more.

NOTE: This a major edit of my DevHook 0.51 guide for firmware 1.5. If you have firmware 1.5 and want to run the new DevHook, see here:

Thanks for reading, please post your feedback and comments. I might add photos later if this text-only guide isn't clear enough.

EDIT: Ok, sorry there is already another guide on this. I have added some pictures, and there are more to come.
