I just started getting this out of nowhere and I'm not sure why.

AppName: winavi.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: videoconverter.dll
ModVer: 8.0.0.0 Offset: 0001f0eb

does anyone know how to fix this?

I am no expert but I think your videoconverter.dll file is corrupt. You can replace it with one from here

http://www.winavi.com/en/download/package.htm

or you could just re-install the program.

The file is located (normally) in C:\Program Files\WinAVIVideoConverter

Hope this helps.

I got the same error. Then I uninstalled and reinstalled winavi.

Now I can't play AVIs at all without getting errors, no matter what. Any ideas?

The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Treesloth, do you have VLC media player? I don't know what errors you're getting but I am guessing it is a codec problem. VLC media player will play just about any video file. Uninstalling and re-installing winavi should not have caused this problem.

I use ATIMMC, have reinstalled that, and all codecs I have. And yes, winavi caused it. I fired it up to convert something and bam, error.

That's how it started. No AVIs will play with any player, even VLC. I believe it's a DLL problem.

Rolando88, I was going to suggest a re-install (this has usually fixed such things for me) but in view of Treesloths problems I hesitate to do so now.

Well, I guess there is always support@winavi.com. There is an unofficial Winavi board here http://www.dvd-guides.com/component/opti...d,95/board,36.0
and at least one person has had the same problem.

rolando88: I think the best way for you is email to support@winavi.com,tell them your problem, they may help you fix that.

TreeSloth:Make sure you have installed the XviD or DivX codec for .avi files.
Wish that helpful.
