1).Hi I have a question. my processor type is an AMD athlon 64 x2 dual core processor 4200+. How do I find the REAL maximum speed in GHZ?(2GHZ,3GHZ). Control panel/system, is wrong.
2).And my other question is, If I have an AMD 2GHZ and an Intel 2GHZ, wich one is actualy faster? Because I hears that a 2GHZ AMD=to a 3 or 4 GHZ Intel.
3).My last question is, when I go to look up the system requierments for a video game and it seas that I need a 2GHZ proccesor, Is that AMD and Intel or will it varie on a specific proccessor type.

Download and use CPU-Z to find out your exact system/processor specs.

yours runs @2.2ghz it is about the same as a intel 3.2ghz cpu.
a cpu comparison chart can be found here.
you can always overclock to squeeze some more performance out of it, but the amount you can oc by will depend more on your other componants. more info and some realy helpfull people can be found here, just let them know all your specs and then they can advise how to do it, or just give you an idea on what it is.

AMD athlon 64 x2 dual core processor 4200+
RAM-2048mb
hardrive-320GB
graphics card-Nvidia Geforce 6150
That should be good for gaming? I think I should upgrade my video card. Everything else seems GREATE!

Indeed, the video card could be better, but the RAM and CPU should be more than fine.

TBH, i can't really recommend any specific card or slot, since i only play really old games on my Asus M2NPV-VM with NVIDIA GeForce 6150 + nForce 430 onboard...

For PCI-E, it only depends on your budget. If you want the current best, then get a nVidia GeForce 8800GTX, other wise a ATI X1900XTX (512MB) would be great and a lot cheaper than the 8800GTX

The Fiend ....Thanks a million for that download.
I was trying to find out the specs of my Motherboard. Thinking about upgrading my processor. I currently have an AMD Athlon XP 2800+, & am thinking about upgrading to an AMD 64.
I have an ASUS A7V600 motherboard, trying to figure out which 64-bit will be compatible ? It says that my AMD Atlon XP2800+
is a socket A(462).
Also will many of my softwares work w/ the 64-bit chip ?
For example Nero Recode2, CloneDVD2, AnyDVD, DVDFabDecrypter.
My Firefox browser ?

You're not getting 64-Bit with Socket A... Sorry
EDIT: Hmm, that came out a bit wrong, i mean 64-Bit can't be done on Socket A.

Yea, all s939's are 64-Bit, but you have a socket A motherboard so to upgrade to a socket 939 you'll need to upgrade your motherboard as well as your proc.
