Help - is AnyDVD any good? good enough to buy?

Hello,

I know people talk about AnyDVD alot.
I was wanting to know is it really good enough have to pay for?
most thing people use are free download.
I have never had to pay to backup/burn DVDs-movies.
I know the first 21 days are free on some downloads?
is there a free all days download?
The DVDFab Decrypter and DVD Shrink 3.2. was working fine for me.
then on one movie Shrink was having some error come up.
- right at the end of the backup/encoding.
This has never happen before? just this one movie?
Some people told me to try AnyDVD in the back ground while Shrink.
is there some other way to shrink.?
or a way get the main movie to fit on a dvd?

if any one can help that would be great.
thanks -RedMatt

Hi,

If you are looking to back up your dvds with free programs I suggest you take a look at this link:

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/422740. Excellent guide which works with and all the software is free. Regarding AnyDVD alot of people here use it and it is worth the price. Do a search here on threads with AnyDVD referenced and for the most part the majority of people are satisfied with it (as well as lifetime updates).

to burn or not to burn that is the question

I purchased AnyDVD back in the day and rarely use it for more than seeing what type of protection these kooky manufacturers have put on the latest releases. I find the free programs easier to use...try DVDFab Decrypter or Ripit4Me.

sorry.

the thing i was asking for help was if the AnyDVD was good enough to buy. and aslo the Shrink error.

I did say i was using -- The DVDFab Decrypter and DVD Shrink 3.2. was working fine for me. --then on one movie Shrink was having some error come up. - right at the end of the backup/encoding.
This has never happen before? just this one movie?

I will try out AnyDVD for the free time.
i do like the DVDFab Decrypter
I might ask about the shrink error in the shrink form.

DVD Shrink is still a great program, it just can't cope with the newer encryptions. I personally swear by DVDFab Decrypter & DVD Shrink, however there are a few other free and paid alternatives.

edit- which movie was it, maybe you just need to use VobBlanker after DVDFab and before Shrink. Also maybe DVDFab isn't up to date enough yet, plus there's now a new Beta version of DVDFab Decrypter out - http://www.dvdfab.com/DVDFabDecrypter3045Beta.exe

well in my book AnyDvD/DvDClone2 is the best set out there.
well worth the money to me anyway, and very simple..

DvDShrink still works fine behind AnyDVD for me..

my two ways are either
1.AnyDvD/DvDShrink/CloneDvD2...movie only

2.AnyDvD/DvDShrink/DvDDecypter..movie only

only been let down a couple of times..

tried all those free proggy's didn't care for them much.

gday to you/////////////////////////////////
